Course Overview:

Advanced Grab Control & Subject Takedown Course

This advanced course focuses on critical skills required for officers to safely manage and control combative or resistive subjects during close-contact encounters. Participants will develop the ability to recognize, defeat and dominate common grabs while establishing strong positional control that leads to safe and effective take-downs. Using principle-based instruction grounded in Fight IQ concepts such as mobility, distance management, angles and transitions- officers enhance their ability to control a subject's balance, structure and posture while maintaining officer safety. Students will train and apply practical methods to: establish dominant grips and 2-on-1 control positions, body locks, off balance subjects through posture and base disruption, apply SAFE effective LE take-downs and maintain top control position.
